Letting Go of Perfect: An Immersive Drawing Workshop & Soundbath
Join Elizabeth Mihaltse Lindy for a participatory drawing meditation that invites you to quiet the inner critic and embrace creative flow. This workshop explores drawing as a call-and-response process, where mark-making becomes an intuitive dialogue within the gallery space.
Set against the backdrop of an exhibition exploring resilience, transformation by the river, and the cycles of life, this session will be accompanied by an immersive soundscape performed by Tamalyn Miller using handmade instruments and diverse objects. The ethereal sound bath provides a meditative atmosphere, allowing movement, rhythm, and breath to guide your hand.
As part of the workshop, artist Elizabeth Castagna will bring her practice of body-led drawing into the space, demonstrating complete immersion within the movement of the body and the marks made on paper. Her approach highlights the connection between internal sensation and external form, deepening the experience of intuitive drawing.
Together, we will cultivate a space for reflection, connection, and healing. Whether you're an artist or a creative seeker, this is an opportunity to let go of perfection, embrace imperfection, and rediscover drawing as an intuitive and meditative act.
No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to experiment! Materials are included. Space is limited—reserve your spot!

Elizabeth Castagna is a visual and movement-based artist whose practice is deeply rooted in her exploration of somatics. Originally from The Bronx, NY, she spent most of her life living and painting in NYC before relocating to Beacon, NY. Her work has been exhibited both locally in NYC, the Hudson Valley, and internationally. In 2021, she expanded her movement drawing process beyond her studio, bringing it into abandoned and temporary spaces. Elizabeth’s painting process is an embodied one, integrating her felt sense, emotions, and life experiences, as tools to paint through. That felt sense would come through to gesture, and be made visible through the paint, the chalk or charcoal. She has performed her movement drawing in arts festivals and led workshops in cultural spaces. For the past 20 years, Elizabeth has also been an Alexander Technique teacher and a practitioner of Craniosacral Therapy and Reiki. Her art and body awareness practices run in parallel, inspiring and informing one another.
