Backtracking
After spending a week at Chautauqua Institution, a retreat center for social, spiritual, artistic, and recreation, I returned to the studio to continue thesis work on the body. I have been thinking about the body keeps score, and the movements of escape, as the body gets stuck on linen as it tries to move backwards, and creates a pattern of gestural trails as the body slides on plastic paper. Interesting to see how the body and paint work on different materials with the similar technique. Natural versus Artificial.
