Dormition
Opening into my mom’s giant art book, The Icon, which focuses on the Byzantine tradition, I found myself on a page that depicted a scene of the virgin mother in a state of Dormition (falling asleep). Spiritual and bodily transformation: Dormition, Assumption, Resurrection, Glorification all have a place somewhere in this project that I have been working on as I look for fullness in existence.
